“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.” ~~ John G. Diefenbaker

Right now, British Columbia only has two choices; terrible, and worse than terrible …

A few weeks back I wrote a piece stating that we (small 'c' conservatives) really had no choice, if we didn't want an NDP win in the next election.  Outside of having a very strong Independent to vote for, or not voting at all, there was little choice given our option but to vote for the BC Liberal candidate in our riding. Personally since then, I really haven't changed my mind, however a former political ally (John Crocock) from our BC Conservative days called to remind me that, "The BC Action Party was formed to give British Columbia a positive choice" From that conversation I offered him the chance to make his pitch to you ... so in John's words, here is why he is asking for your support for candidates they'll be running in the May Provincial General Election. Right now, British Columbia only has two choices, terrible, and, worse than terrible … The BC Liberals can unbelievably fleece the British Columbia

We Don't Have a Carbon Tax, We Have a Consumption Tax on Hydrocarbons

WAKEY WAKEY ... rise and shine!!   I remember that from my youth (yah, it WAS a long time ago).  Well it seems that this past week many in the media have finally awoken to the fact that the BC Liberal imposed Carbon Tax is not -- AND NEVER WAS -- revenue neutral.  This is true at least for the majority of people that paid it, those being anyone that lived north of Hope, and who were in the ever shrinking middle class!   News story after news story is now making it abundantly clear, as this story from the Financial Post stated:  " How B.C.’s formerly ‘revenue neutral’ carbon tax turned into another government cash grab " And Me?  Well I've posted numerous stories on this beginning back in June of 2011 : Did you know that owing a forest can make you big money with BC’s carbon tax policies??  It’s true --- it’s one of the ways that business – and even government itself – can make it look as if they are doing more for the environment than the

Take out my Bold Italics and does it not -- on its' own -- cover all aspects of faith discrimination in a fair, equal and democratic way?

Liberal MP Iqra Khalid - Mississauga-Erin Mills - This coming Thursday (February 16th) Members of Parliament will be voting on a Private Members' Motion from Liberal MP Iqra Khalid (Mississauga-Erin Mills) .  Motion M-103 seems somewhat general in nature on first glance of the title,  " Systemic Racism and Religious Discrimination " ... but NOT once you read the actual text, which in fact instead highlights a very specific religious belief system.   Here is the actual text of the motion: That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: ( a ) recognize the need to quell the increasing public climate of hate and fear; ( b ) condemn Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination and take note of House of Commons’ petition e-411 and the issues raised by it; and ( c ) request that the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage undertake a study on how the government could (i) develop a whole-of-government approach

BEAT KLOSSNER: We Need a Wider Selection of Parties, Which Will Lead to Minority Governments That Will Have to Work With Others to Get Things Done

Kamloops South Thompson Communist Party candidate Beat Klossner Today I have the second in a series of posts, from candidate who will be seeking the votes of constituents in the Kamloops South Thompson riding, in the May provincial general election. Today's comments come from a candidate for the Communist Party.  And let me say right from the outset, I did have reservations about even offering the opportunity for a Communist Party candidate to participate.  I personally do not believe in communism, however if I believe, as strongly as I do in democracy, do I have the right to stifle free speech ... and the thoughts and opinions of others?  No ... I think not.  So today, meet Beat Klossner, candidate for the Communist Party.  I think like me, you will find answers to the questions I posed to him to be very interesting, and enlightening, given perceived notions that I had. Beat will be asking for your vote in the May Provincial General Electi
